Designed from scratch is a period correct Ford Racing/Alan Root big block Ford engine from the original Bigfoot Monster Truck, designed from the original engine restoration videos, very high in detail, ideal for scale modeling.
Currently in 1/24 and 1/25 scale - if your project is bigger, the bigger you scale it, the more the details improve).
The files contain some duplicate options to suit your build preference - between highly realistic scale to easy to print scale (ignition boots, nitrous lines etc)
Features include
- Oil sump: wet sump configuration with modified sump recess for extra capacity at rear of sump
- Engine Block: Ford Racing/Alan Root engine block with external water cooling. Has provision for standard distributor (top location) if needed
- Timing Cover: locates to front of engine block
- Heads: hollow heads for simple printing, and detailed heads complete with Bigfoot customized valvetrain details. Left & Right sides have unique locators in the block
- Valve Covers: Alan Root finned valve covers - arrows on underside provide direction forward.
- Intake Manifold has lower locator for assembly into the block & upper locator for supercharger
- BDS 8/71 supercharger with belt guard
- Nitrous Plate: 3 options of nitrous plates; 1) an empty nitrous plate (nitrous delete) which just has upper blower straps, 2) nitrous plate in 1/24 realistic scale, 3) oversized nitrous lines and locators for easy printing (all proven to print & clean if care taken)
- Predator Carb assemblies: 3 options of triple carb assemblies mounted onto carb block 1) plain carb with no linkages or hoses 2) carbs with linkages, AN fittings & hoses in 1/24 realistic scale 3) oversized linkages & AN fittings & hoses for easy printing (all proven to print & clean if care taken)
- Carb accessories: additional separate 1/24 scale realistic fuel lines with AN fittings, and throttle linkages
- Air Filters: K&N small hollow filters with wing nuts (print x3) - recommend adding some panel line into K&N logo to add detail to build
- Belts & Pulleys: combination toothed blower belt with blower pulley, idler pulley and crank pulley together - fits onto locators on block, blower, and idle pulley bracket
- Headers: square port to round 4-into-1 headers with locators into head ports
- Short exhaust system with round muffler and angled turn down exhaust exit
- Water pump: locates onto crank pulley (centre mounting surface) with 4 posts docking onto block. mount your radiator hose to the downward facing pump fitting
- Water pump lines: Junction AN fitting mounts to side of water pump, and 2 AN fittings & hoses mount to side of block
- Water Header tank lines: locates under intake manifold with 2 short lines mounting to the front of heads, 2 longer lines mounting to rear of heads. Mount your radiator hose to the head tank entry
- Ignition Boots: 2 options of Hemi style ignition boots 1) 1/24 scale realistic sizing 2) oversized diameter for easier printing & wiring (all proven to print & clean if care taken)
- Magneto: 2 options 3 options of magneto 1) 1/24 scale accurate 1 piece, 2) 1/24 scale accurate 2 piece with separate top, 3) oversized plug boots for easier printing & wiring (all proven to print & clean if care taken)
- Oil pump: has locator into timing cover and integrated AN fittings
2 piece Distributor used on all engines allows you to quickly wire engines by laying & gluing 4x wires across the centre of the dizzy top, making sure wires are placed between the separators, then gluing the dizzy top over it.
