Static 3D model of the so called three cylinder diesel - electric submarine of the Dolfijn / Potvis class.
The Potvis-klasse where in service from 1965 till 1992 by the Dutch Navy.
The class contained 4 ships :
HrMs DolfijnHrMs ZeehondHrMs PotvisHrMs Tonijn
The design was made in the late 50's and reletavely unique because of the use of a 3 cilinder presure hull. The intention was to place te more heavy parts (engine and accu's etc) in the 2 lower cilinders en the less heavy parts in the 1 top cilinder. This should reduce the need for ballast and use that weight to strenghten te pressure hull.
One of the Potvis-Class submarines can be seen at the Navy Museum in Den Helder in the Netherlands.

Model specs:
Detailed model designed to make a static submarine. The hull has many detail and is separated in 6 parts, also separate dek parts, to be printed with your FDM or Resin printer for better detail. This model is specielly designed for static use. It will be very difficult to make a RC working model from this one. If you are looking for a nice RC model to build.. a 1/50 model is also available here and can be printed in smaller or bigger scale.
Length: 79,5cmWidth: 7,8 cm
Minimal Printbed size: 200x200x200(H)
I printed mine with PLA basic matte from EsunThe matte pla gives a really smooth look surface makes it more easy to remove the supports, because of the many detail and holes in the hull it is needed to print with the use of support.
