Modular Fuel Tank for Warhammer 40000 and Necromunda

Modular Fuel Tank for Warhammer 40000 and Necromunda 3D print model

Description

Modular fuel tank for your wargaming tables - fits great into Warhammer 40,000, Necromunda and other sci-fi settings. Thanks to being modular, it can be fitted with fuel pipe and platform on the fly as you need for your current game.

Key features:

  • modular and highly customizable model
  • with detachable platform that can easily fit 2 to 8 models depending on the size of their bases
  • dimensions of the fully fitted fuel tank is 64 x 146 x 89 mm
  • 28mm scale
  • print is tested on FDM Ender 5 printer
  • STLs properly scaled and are plug & print ready

Instructions:

1) To create fuel tank without top platform:

  • Print following: FuelTank_Middle, 2 x FuelTank_End and 2 x FuelTank_Stand - no supports required
  • Glue FuelTank_Ends on both ends of FuelTank_Middle
  • FuelTank_Stands doesn't require glueing to FuelTank_Middle but can improve overall stability, especially when using top platform

2) To add fuel pipe:

  • Print FuelTank_FuelPipe - there is slight overhang in the upper half of the model. This can be printed without supports but I recommend adding support if you are having problem with lower quality of the print in this area.
  • This part doesn't require glueing and can be easily put next to the FuelTank_Ends as shown on pictures. Fuel pipe can be easily attached and detached to fit your current game session

3) To add platform:

  • Print following: FuelTank_Platform (*), 2 x FuelTank_PlatformSupport, FuelTank_Ladder (1-4 pieces as you see fit)
  • Glue FuelTank_PlatformSupport to the bottom side of the FuelTank_Platform on designated area
  • Attach FuelTank_Ladder to slots on FuelTank_Platform. This is push-to-fit and doesn't require glueing but feel free to glue these parts together
  • Position completed platform on completed fuel tank from point 1) No glue is required - this will make platform detachable to fit your current game session needs. However, you can easily glue platform to the rest of the fuel tank if you wish so
  • Refer to pictures and exploded view to assemble fuel tank with platform correctly (*) - since FuelTank_Platform has grid pattern on the bottom it can cause bed adhesions problems on improperly calibrated printers. I recommend printing with very low speeds for initial layers or you can print FuelTankl_PlatformFullBottom. In this STL, there is no grid pattern on first few layers and should print easily enough on most printers

3D Printing Settings:

Unfortunalety no part with insignia included (copyright issue? understandable...). Had to modify the parts a bit for resin printing. The main tank has the perfect size to fit onto a anycubic Photon build plate (hollowed like a tube and supported). End (hollowed), stands, plattform and plattform supports printed directly on the bed (elephant foot not really an issue there). Nice piece of terrain!
