Dumb Drum, named Oil Drum on one occasion, is the fifth boss in Donkey Kong Country. Dumb Drum is a giant black drum that is seemingly mechanical, and it has a skull and crossbones emblem with glowing red eyes printed on it. Dumb Drum is fought in Boss Dumb Drum, at the end of Kremkroc Industries Inc. When starting the battle, Dumb Drum tries to hit Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong by floating in the air and slamming itself down on them. If Dumb Drum misses the Kongs, it begins to release two enemies out of its body. In the battle, Dumb Drum releases the following enemies in order: Kritters, Slippas, Klaptraps, Klumps, and Armies. Each time the Kongs defeat a wave of enemies, Dumb Drum tries to crush them again at a faster pace after each round, and takes another attempt for every wave beaten. Dumb Drum can be defeated by defeating all five waves of enemies, somehow causing it to self-destruct.
