Chomps are a species of generic shark-like fish, found in the underwater levels of Donkey Kong Country. They live in the waters surrounding Donkey Kong Island. Chomps are big and quite fearsome, though slow and are not common. They also have a small, nimble variant called Chomps Jr.s.

Their stripes suggest that they may be inspired by tiger sharks. The stripes of tiger sharks fade with age, and the stripes on Chomps are lighter than the ones on Chomps Jr.

Chomps Jr. are small shark-like fish enemies which are common in underwater levels in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land. They are smaller, quicker variants of Chomps.

Their stripes suggest that they may be inspired by tiger sharks. The stripes of juvenile tiger sharks are darker than those of adult tiger sharks, as is the case with Chomps Jr. and Chomps.
