Description
The DesignThis playful pair of crab-shaped stud earrings brings a whimsical nautical theme to fine jewelry. Each earring is designed as a stylized crab, with a bezel-set oval gemstone forming the rounded shell-shaped body, flanked by eight curling articulated legs and a pair of raised claws. The claws are finished with heart-shaped pavé clusters, while two small round bezel-set stones sit between them as the crab's eyes/antennae, adding sparkle and symmetry to the silhouette. The design has been rendered in both yellow gold and white gold with a brilliant white oval center stone, as well as an alternate colorway featuring a vivid oval-cut emerald center, demonstrating the model's flexibility for different gemstone and metal combinations. The result is a fun, wearable, beach-and-ocean-inspired stud that works equally well as an everyday piece or a themed gift item.
The 3D ModelingThe file was engineered as clean, manufacture-ready jewelry CAD, built with a NURBS-based workflow and verified using professional jewelry-CAD analysis tools, including a gem reporter and a metal-weight calculator. The finished stone layout totals 18 gems per pair (1.43 total carat weight as configured), comprising two oval stones at 7.00 x 5.00 mm and sixteen round melee stones in three sizes (1.00 mm, 1.20 mm, and 1.50 mm) for the pavé clusters and bezel accents — all fully editable so stone sizes, shapes, and counts can be swapped to suit different production needs. Full technical drawings are included, with the earring measuring 14.00 mm across, 10.25 mm in total height (5.00 mm body height), a 7.00 mm oval center opening, and a standard 2.00 mm x 3.50 mm friction post and back setting. The geometry is provided with separate, cleanly organized stone and metal components, making it easy to isolate elements for rendering, prong/bezel adjustments, or gemstone substitutions.
ManufacturingThe model is optimized for both traditional lost-wax casting and direct 3D metal/resin printing, with wall thicknesses, bezel walls, and prong/leg details built to hold their shape through the casting process and support fine-detail printing at jewelry scale. Metal-weight calculations are included across a range of common alloys — 9K, 10K, 14K, and 18K white gold, rose gold, and sterling silver — giving manufacturers accurate cost and material estimates before production (approximate pair weights range from roughly 3.4 g in sterling silver up to just over 5 g in 18K white gold, depending on alloy density). The bezel and gem-seat dimensions are matched to the specified stone sizes, so the design is ready to move directly into a jeweler's production pipeline, whether for a single custom order or a full manufacturing run, and can be rescaled proportionally for larger or smaller stone sizes.
Sales & UsageThis file is well suited for jewelry designers, manufacturers, 3D printing services, and online sellers looking for a ready-to-use, on-trend earring design without starting from scratch. It's ideal for use on print-on-demand and jewelry marketplace platforms, custom casting houses, and CAD/CAM production workflows, and can be delivered in multiple formats (3DM, OBJ, STL, and others) to support a wide range of modeling, rendering, and manufacturing software. Buyers receive a fully realized, print-tested design complete with technical dimensions and gemstone/metal specification data, making it easy to move straight from purchase to production or listing. A commercial-use license is recommended for resale or manufacturing purposes, and the design is easily adaptable to different metal finishes and gemstone colors for expanded product lines.
