This clever, 3D-printable kitchen gadget is modeled to look exactly like a miniature bathroom plunger while functioning perfectly as a liquid funnel. The design features a realistic red dome with a flared base rim, a side hanging loop for easy storage, and a hollow beige handle that serves as the pouring spout when flipped upside down. The internal cavity of the red dome is mathematically tapered to ensure liquids or dry ingredients flow smoothly into the spout without pooling on flat interior ledges. It is an excellent functional tool for the kitchen and a perfect novelty or gag gift.
Technical Specifications & Print Settings
Dimensions: ~116 mm (W) x 110 mm (D) x 144 mm (H)
Recommended Material: PETG or Polypropylene (PP). PETG offers excellent layer adhesion and chemical resistance for kitchen use. PLA is acceptable if the funnel is strictly used for dry powders.
Food Safety Warning: FDM 3D prints contain microscopic layer lines that can trap moisture and harbor bacteria. This funnel must be thoroughly coated with a high-temperature, food-safe, FDA-approved epoxy resin before being used for consumable liquids.
Layer Height: 0.16 mm for a smooth, watertight finish on the red dome and the rounded spout tip.
Wall/Perimeter Count: 4 to 5 walls. A high wall count is critical to ensure the funnel is completely watertight and structurally sound.
Print Orientation: Printing this in the upright plunger orientation is highly recommended. The large flat rim provides excellent build plate adhesion.
Supports: Required. You will need a cylindrical support column rising through the hollow center of the red dome to support the flat internal ceiling where the spout channel begins.
