[Summary]
This is a universal calendar that can display any date and its day of the week over multiple years by rearranging the blocks for each day to form a tower-like shape. When the year, month, and day are displayed using addition, an algorithm automatically displays the day of the week for that date. This algorithm was originally developed by the inventor based on a folklore method of calculating the days of the week called a finger calendar, and has been refined over many years of study to make it even simpler and more beautiful. It can be used as a unique accessory to add color to daily life, as interior decoration, or as an educational tool to foster a sense of wonder.
Note: The algorithm is based on the well-known day-of-week calculation method called Zeller's formula, which, in the Gregorian calendar, corresponds to the period from January 1, 1 to December 31, 9999.
[About Blocks]
On the side of each block is a rectangular area, slightly recessed from its surroundings, in which numbers or letters are displayed by relief.
Year value: A year value is a number without a dot in front of it.
Month value: This is the name of each month of the year, each with three letters of the alphabet.
Day value: A day value is a number with a dot in front of it.
Day of the week value: This is the name of each day of the week, each with three letters of the alphabet.
[Stacking Method]
Once the day of the week block is placed at the bottom, the year, month, and day blocks are stacked on top of it like a tower to show the year, month, day, and day of the week of the date. (When stacking blocks on top of blocks, place them so that the stud of the bottom block meet the arche of the top block.)
Year: The year is displayed as a sum of year values.
Month: The month is indicated by the month values.
Day: The day is displayed as a sum of day values.
Day of the week: The day of the week is indicated by the direction pointed by the stud in the top block. (It automatically points to the correct direction of the day of the week using a proprietary algorithm that conforms to Zeller's formula.)
