A typical MoD 4 cylinder Gas trolley as used by the RAF during the Cold War period. These were often seen with Nitrogen or Air bottles. Two types of Bottle are provided. One with 2 hemispherical ends, and a more modern version with a flat end piece.
The Model is provided as both a complete assembled item and a largely one piece mesh, but with a separate Lid, and towing arm to allow positioning & a better fit on smaller beds. Glue may be required.
The design is suitable for Resin Printing. Use Low AA & Blur settings to avoid overthinning parts on smaller scales. Ideal scale for this model is 1/48 or larger. The model uses Metres as it's units. When first loaded, the slicer interprets the units as mm, so will be very small. Use the scale % setting in your Slicer to get the correct size. See below for a detailed explanation of how to calculate the scale setting.
Scale Settings:Useful settings: For 1/72 Scale would be 1388.888%. For 1/48th, Scale is 2083.333% . For 1/32, use a scale of 3125.000%.How to calculate this percentage for the slicer without knowing the model dimensions. First we know that the model unit is 1m, and has been interpreted by the slicer as 1mm. 1m = 1000mm, so to get the right scale, divide 1000 by your scale. EG 1000 divided by 48 = 20.83333. Now multiply the result by 100 because we need a percentage. The final result is 2083.333 as shown above. All other scales use the same formula.
Printing:This model was designed for use in 1/48th scale upwards. Smaller scales may work, but have not been tried. For best results, add supports manually to avoid losing detail. It is recommended to use as small layer thickness as possible, and to turn OFF any image Blurring & Anti-Aliasing if possible, especially for smaller scales. Using these thins the already delicate detail too much.Do not allow your slicer to carry out repairs. These are unnecessary & will cause problems in your print.
