UPDATED FOR IMPROVED HELMET TO SUIT RINGS - MORE MOVIE SCREEN ACCURATE.

Per requests, I have added to the available collection of my **_2001: A Space Odyssey_** 3D print files in which one can 3D print and construct a replica Clavius Suit in the likeness of the movie. Decal Sheets and Arduino program is also included.

This file set is for the Clavius Space Suit - HELMET, CHEST BOX, BACK PACK, and SUIT CONNECTIONS. The Sewn suit is not provided but my Instructable link below shows how to sew one up. All componenets were referenced from a number of sources, mostly the film's movie stills, restoration photographs of a suit actually used in the movie (as seen at auction). I also cross referenced to reproduction products such as movie collectible 1/6 scale figures and even Adam Savage's TESTED Cosplay version. Note that some of these reproduction figurines and the Savage Tested version have errors in them as not accurate to the movie. If I don't see a clear reference in the movie or to the actual suit seen at auction, I did not freelance on this design. Anyway... this is as accurate as I could make it.

I designed it to be hollow yet very strong (5 mm wall thickness min.) with accomodations for the following: Hollow for inclusion of an arduino or wiring if desired, harness connections, Locating pins for seam alignments and strength, and one piece designs where I could minimize seams and keep to the movie prop construction method as close as possible. For example the Back Pack has molded buttons on the top and not as a separate item glued on. I printed it at 10% infill and 0.14 layer height (0.6mm nozzle). The detail to the model takes DAYS to print but the detail is there so just let it go while you go fishing or biking, watching the movie again, whatever... :o)

The files are designed to fit on a 300 x 300 mm wide x 400 mm high FDM printer (Creality CR-10), so the back pack is already sliced to fit. I included pictures of the chest box I 3D printed and the knobs for both the Chest and Back Packs.
