The Jedi image caster - seems simple enough right ? well, that's where i went a bit over the top and made it ENTIRELY functional
you can use led's with it
you can bend the legs
you can use it as an alternate desk stand for display pieces - holographic projection statues ( pretty much couldn't get that idea out of my head why i saw havoc statue printed by Devon ChipsaHoyes in our group :)
It uses 3 mm led's and a single flat 3V battery - all of these can be purchased pretty much anywhere
the bending of the arms - there is a tighter tolerance to it, but if you find it too loose, just add a bit of paper ot thin strip to make it more sturdy - with feedback we will see if that needs improving
sizing - it may appear rather small at first but based on references i got, i think the sizing is good, however feel free to print a bit larger if you feel like you need to.
I recommend 0.15 mm layer height for the shell pieces
There are 3 pins once again with tight tolerances - you glue the pins into one side and just snap fit it to the other one so you can break it open later and access the battery.
Use brim on the pins when printing.
Alternate use of the jedi image caster - scale it up and use lights in combination with clear resin printed figurines to get an imitation of holographic projector :)
