Design
Features Authentic Historical Accuracy: Based on historical documentation and archaeological evidence of 7th-12th century Byzantine naval vessels. The model includes characteristic features such as the pronounced upward curve at bow and stern, dual decorative animal-headed prow and stern posts, overlapping shield mounts along the sides, and structural ribbing visible along the hull. Optimized for 3D Printing: Pre-supported geometry with manifold surfaces, minimal overhangs for stable printing, separated components for multi-material printing, test-printed and validated design, and clean STL files ready for slicing. Display-Ready Details: Ornamental figureheads at bow and stern, row of circular shields along the gunwales, visible oar port openings, central mast with rigging points, deck planking texture, and elegant white/cream finish showcasing fine details.
Printing Recommendations
Material Suggestions: PLA for beginners and display models, PETG for increased durability, Resin for finest detail capture, and ABS for strength and post-processing.Settings: Layer height of 0.1-0.2mm for FDM or 0.05mm for resin, 15-20% infill sufficient for display models, supports needed for mast and decorative elements, and print bow-up orientation for best results.Post-Processing: Light sanding of layer lines, primer and paint for historical accuracy, optional rigging with thread or wire, and weathering effects for realistic aged appearance.
