Leprechaun (titled El duende maldito in Latin America and The Duende's Night in Spain) is an American horror and suspense film, classified as a horror comedy; it was released in 1993, written and directed by Mark Jones. It stars Warwick Davis as the title character and Jennifer Aniston in her film debut. Davis plays a vengeful leprechaun who believes a family has stolen his pot of gold from him. While he hunts them, the family tries to locate his gold to defeat him. The movie was originally meant to be more of a horror movie, but Davis decides to give his character a dose of humor. Bloodier scenes were also re-shot to appeal to adult audiences.
