DESCRIPTION

The populer sword from Final Fantasy VII! Made in 2 versions the one from the Final Fantasy VII remake (from trailer videos) and from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. At 2.1 meters this is one of the largest swords in gaming history and and maybe also in 3d printing history. Also comes with Clouds left 'Bracelets' (both left and right arm) and Shoulder protector! Also supplied is a checklist which can be used for printing one of the versions.

All files are named logically being: (Bed size) - (Colour) - (Part) - (Part nr) - (Series if applicable).

Approximately 2.5kg of filament is required to print this depending on your settings (calculated with 2 perimeters and 7% infill) and takes around 6 days non-stop printing. The grip/handle parts could use some more infill to ensure nothing going wrong while acting like the hero trying to that cute Tifa Lockheart on the convention.

Files are sliced for a 300x300x350 bed, files for a smaller bed will follow soon but there are also files for:

  • Blade black half full (both versions of the sword)
  • Blade silver half full
  • Full blade (both versions of the sword)

That can be sliced to your own needs with software like meshmixer or other STL slicing software!

The grip comes in 2 versions, with a pattern and smoothed to add an own leather strap for a cooler look!

[IMPORTANT] For internal strength there can be up to four 8mm rods of about 2 meter (requires trimming at certain parts), I suggest adding at least one through the grip's center that goes up the full length of the sword.

[IMPORTANT] If you scale this version down but still want to use the rods ensure you'll resize everything accordingly. The hole size for the prints is 8.3mm to account for some prints

[IMPORTANT] Seeing this is such a long print I've not finished my own print just yet but am in the process of making this along with 2 other people independently and till now all files are working well!

[REALLY IMPORTANT] Choose your Materia wisely, you never know what you will encounter on the battlefield!

--- Update 25-06-1028I've added a second version of the Grip (300x300x350 - Red - Grip V2.stl) which requires no support at all to print, might also be better when holding the sword. Also added some WIP pictures

Also I'm always up for suggestions so if you have any please hit me up!

--- Update 19-07-2020Youtuber Frankly_Built did a review on my STL package and can viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dbsh87VuM6U&t=85s Soon he'll release a how-to instruction video as well!

Awesome STL file. I printed this at 100% on my Ender 3v2. I basically took the sliced-up files provided for the CR10 and I sliced them all in half again to fit my Ender 3. I bought an 8mm threaded rod(s) from McMaster-Carr. I actually only ran threaded rod on the spine of the blade and down the handle up to around halfway through the center of the blade. It came out really well and I have it mounted on my wall as a display piece. Very happy with this model and my first big print on my printer.
