Harley is a secondary yet beloved character from Biker Mice from Mars, the animated series that originally ran from 1993 to 1996 and later returned in 2006. In the classic continuity, she’s a Martian mouse who serves as the mechanic and medic for the Freedom Fighters, the rebel movement resisting the Plutarkians on Mars. Her presence adds emotional depth to the backstories of Vinnie and Stoker.

In the 1990s series, Harley appears in the flashback arc “Once Upon a Time on Mars.” We see her fixing bikes, tending to the wounded, and sharing a clear bond with Vinnie. After he suffers a serious injury, Harley crafts the face plate and cross-belts that define his signature look—an act that seals their connection amid a subtle love triangle with Stoker. Near the end of the insurrection she’s abducted, and her fate remains unresolved in the original run.

Her story reaches closure in the 2006 revival, especially in the finale, “Turf Wars: A Martian Rock Opera.” There, it’s revealed that after her kidnapping Harley was disfigured and—believing the Biker Mice had abandoned her—sided with the nomadic Rats. That trauma briefly puts her at odds with the heroes, until an imminent Martian catastrophe pushes her to redeem herself and sacrifice for her planet. The ending is bittersweet: the team only finds her mask, leaving open the possibility that she survived, while they vow to rebuild Mars “for Harley.”

Because canonical details about Harley in the ’90s are sparse, it helps to frame her within the show’s larger tone and mythology: three biker mice—Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie—arrive in Chicago to thwart the Plutarkians’ resource-plundering schemes, aided by human mechanic Charley. In that mirror, Harley functions as a Martian counterpart to Charley: both are mechanics, both brave, and both share ties with Vinnie. The result highlights the series’ themes of loyalty, loss, and resilience.
