Arcade Stick Barebones Case

Arcade Stick Barebones Case 3D print model

Description

Barebones Arcade Stick. A4 (297mm x 210mm) sized Acrylic required for top and bottom panels. Included in the files are the drawings for these to be lasercut in DWG file format.

There are two versions of the case, one has panels that are to be attached to the sides (These are included) and one without and just plain as in the first picture.

Joystick slot was measured with a Sanwa JLF arcade stick. Top panel holes are 30mm and side are 24mm. I would recomend Screw in type buttons. The front is designed to take a Neutrik RJ45 locking connector (however the USB version should fit). The model I designed this for is: Neutrik NE8FDP.

Also the PCB holders are designed for the PS360+ and Brooks UFB form factors . http://akishop-customs.com/PS360.html http://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/06960737/

Please note whilst I have designed this for 3D printing I have not been able to print this myself. The reasons being 1. I dont have a printer large enough, and 2. All quotes I received to print this put it beyond economical sense.

Please also be aware this model is provided as is and I take no responsibility for loss or damages resulting in using this model. Use at your own risk as I have not been able to verify myself how well this will print.

Best of luck on this, I only wish I could have printed it myself. However I did a redesign to print on a smaller printer that turned out really well which I will also upload in the coming days.

:)

Hi morinaga. Due to some stuff happening i had to postpone buying the printer til now. It should come in a month or so and after I learned how to use it, I plan on doing this arcade stick. Do you remember what layout you used for the top? I want to put a plexi panel on top to display artwork, of course. Is it by any chance one I could directly order from https://focusattack.com/customize/fightstick/custom-plexiglass ?

Apolagies for the late reply, It is a custom layout. However there are files included for the arcylic panel to be lasercut. If you have that ability then great or you can get it professionally cut by such a service on the internet or even print it out and use it as a template to cut your own. A good reference for doing so is here: https://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/example2.html

well my brother is at the university of texas and they have a badass 3d printer and he can use it for free and does not have to pay for materials either. he's printing this for me now and he's also making me a badass wood top and bottom for it as well. I'll let you know how it comes out if you are interested.

I actually did not even think of printing it diagonally. xD My bad. Dunno how I did not see that one. :D

Hi Obake, I've never printed this model so it's hard to say. Though if I were to print it I would go for vertical from the back side, diagonally across the build area if possible. Also with a slow speed on a cr10 because of the moving build plate other than that, which I presume you probably have thought of anyway I cant advise any further. Ive had no feedback on whether anyone has successfully printed it unfortunately. I would love to see if it does get printed though. If you have suggestions for tweaks to help you print this, I'll take a look to see if the changes are doable and make them if possible. Hope that helps.

I'm about to get a CR-10 (or CR-10S) and among other things, I would love to try to print this. But with it's 300 x 300 x 400 mm print volume it would need to be printed vertically (to do it in one single piece), with the short left side on the ground. =\ Do you know if someone already gave it a go? Are there any recommendations? :D
