Spelled Dice Keychain is a functional, articulated accessory hardware design built around a sequence of six connected dice elements, progressing from one to six. Each dice element is defined by precisely arranged through-holes rather than printed or engraved dots, giving the object a distinctive mechanical and tactile character.
The six dice are individually articulated through integrated hinge joints, allowing controlled movement along the hinge axis while maintaining the clean, linear geometry of the assembled object. The complete assembled length is approximately 65.53 mm, with a main dice width of approximately 9.89 mm and an overall thickness of approximately 4.20 mm.
The hinge system and connecting geometry are modeled as an integral part of the design, preserving the compact proportions and mechanical appearance of the original concept. This model is intended primarily as accessories hardware, fashion hardware and product design, rather than fine jewelry. It is suitable for manufacturing in materials commonly used for premium accessories and hardware, including stainless steel, brass, copper, zinc alloys and other suitable metals.
Beyond its visual character, Spelled Dice Keychain is designed to be a tactile object. The articulated sequence of dice creates a subtle and satisfying movement in the hand, while the cool sensation of polished metal and the small mechanical movements between the segments give the object a calming and almost meditative physical quality. It can function not only as a practical keychain, but also as a small tactile accessory intended to be handled naturally in everyday use.
Important: The key ring or carabiner shown in the presentation renders is for visualization purposes only and is NOT included in the STL or 3DM files. The first dice is specifically designed with a functional attachment hole, allowing the user or manufacturer to install virtually any suitable key ring, split ring, clasp or other compatible attachment hardware according to the intended application.
Files IncludedThe complete package is provided as one ZIP file containing the following files:• STL — production-ready 3D mesh• 3DM — Rhino 3D source/model file• JPEG — presentation/reference imagesAll primary dimensions are modeled in millimeters (mm). The design is suitable for fashion accessories, keychain hardware, bags, backpacks, lifestyle products, EDC accessories and other metal accessory applications.
Recommended MaterialsFor a silver-colored version, my preferred material is 316L stainless steel. It offers excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and durability, making it particularly appropriate for a moving hardware component that will be exposed to keys, pockets and everyday handling.
For a gold-colored version, I recommend 316L stainless steel with a Gold PVD coating. This combination provides the appearance of premium gold-colored hardware while maintaining the strength and durability of stainless steel. It is especially suitable for an articulated product where surface wear resistance is important.
Based on the dimensions shown in the technical drawing, the estimated weight of the complete six-dice assembly in 316L stainless steel is approximately 11 grams. A brass version would be slightly heavier, at approximately 12 grams, depending on the final internal volume and manufacturing tolerances. These figures are approximate and should be verified against the exact final 3DM geometry before being used as manufacturing specifications.
Wishing you a successful casting, smooth manufacturing, and a beautiful final result.
