DESCRIPTION

Model name: HMIF_WASPType: Armored gunboatGenre: Dieselpunk / Steampunk / Sci-Fi

We present to your attention the flagship model of the line — the armored gunboat “Wasp”. This is a fully modular project created specifically for tabletop wargames, dioramas, or collecting. The model is designed so that you can assemble a unique ship to suit your army or story, changing the armament and functionality in a couple of minutes.

What’s included in the project (94 elements):Your purchase gives you full control over the result:

STL files of two types: clean files without supports for experienced users and ready‑to‑print configurations with automatically placed tree‑like supports for fast and high‑quality printing of small details.Compatibility: The files are prepared both for classic FDM printers (optimal quality is achieved with a 0.4 mm nozzle, high detail — with a 0.2 mm nozzle) and for highly detailed printing on photopolymer (SLA/DLP/LCD) machines.Scalability: You can independently adjust the support generation parameters, wall thickness, and infill percentage before printing.Housing design:The ship has impressive overall dimensions: length 300 mm, width 103 mm.

The above‑water part (height 108 mm): consists of 5 main sections. The underwater part (additional 34 mm in height, total 142 mm): consists of 6 bottom segments, two propellers, and a rudder. The parts are connected with reliable cylindrical pins. The underwater part can be omitted if the model is intended to be placed on a dry stand. Please note: due to the shrinkage of different plastics, there may be slight misalignment of the pins, which can be easily corrected with light sanding.Main gun turret:The central part of the ship is occupied by a massive round turret. It can be assembled in three variants:

With an open protective mask.Fully enclosed (for painting). With a plug for the civilian version. One of the following armament options is installed on the turret: twin short barrels, a long‑barreled gun, or a multi‑platform with four independent mounting positions. The turret is capable of rotating horizontally, and the guns can change their elevation angle. Additionally, instead of a gun, a compartment with an opening lid can be installed inside.Side and stern armament:Universal ports are located on the port and starboard sides. They can be used to install:A torpedo tube;A twin short‑barreled gun;A single-barrel heavy gun;A twin-barrel rapid-fire anti-aircraft gun;Or decorative plugs with portholes (for conversion into a civilian tug or bulk carrier).Additional mounting locations for heavy guns, mine-laying devices, or navigation lights are provided on the upper and rear platforms of the central section, as well as on the stern.Variability of artillery (compatible with all models):The project includes a huge number of additional elements:

Gun turrets: two types of mechanisms — with horizontal rotation and with vertical locking.Barrels for small turrets: large siege weapon, rapid‑fire autocannon, small anti‑boarding weapon.Open artillery systems (6 pcs.): Single‑barrel gun with ammunition boxes (4 pcs.), twin gun, four‑barrel anti‑aircraft gun, twin torpedo tube (with two separate torpedoes), missile silo (in open and closed forms with an installed missile), mine release with two depth charges.Accessories for the civilian version: Cargo crane, searchlight, navigation bridge with lights, winch, radar lattice tower.Assembly and materials:The model is assembled using standard cyanoacrylate glue (“super glue”). It is recommended to start assembly with the underwater part, then join the sections of the main hull, and only after that mount the small artillery.

Safety and age restrictions:“Caution! Contains small parts. Choking hazard.”

For children aged 4 to 7: assembly must be carried out under parental supervision. For children aged 8 to 99 and older: assembly is allowed independently.Choose your painting style: from a rust‑splattered patrol boat of the working factions to a grand, snow‑white yacht of the corporations. The project offers endless possibilities for conversion work.

Technical requirements for printing:

Printers: FDM, SLA, DLP, LCD.FDM settings: Layer height 0.1–0.2 mm. For thin trunks, it is recommended to activate the “vase mode” function or use perimeters of at least 3 layers.Photopolymer: Layer height: 0.035–0.05 mm for maximum quality of rivets and ladders.Join the HMIF fleet and assemble your perfect ship!
