3D model descriptionThis 3D printable model represents the Soviet Tupolev G-5 torpedo boat, recreated at approximately 1:24 scale with a finished length of about 80 cm. Despite its size, the model is intentionally designed to be simple, robust, and easy to assemble. The entire main hull is constructed from only six primary parts, with extensive internal alignment bosses that make positioning and gluing precise and stress-free. The largest single hull piece measures approximately 270 × 155 × 60 mm, keeping all critical parts well within the capabilities of common desktop 3D printers.

Once the main hull is assembled, the model can be optionally detailed using over 180 accessory parts, all modeled from historically accurate configurations used during the G-5’s operational life. These accessories are entirely optional and can be added selectively, allowing builders to keep the project clean and straightforward or expand it gradually over time. A period-correct torpedo model is included for an authentic final presentation.

3D printing settingsThe model is designed from the ground up with RC conversion in mind. Both rudders are fully functional, with prepared mounting points, servo locations, and control-rod paths integrated directly into the hull. Multiple motor mounting options support both single- and dual-drive configurations. Special attention has been given to waterproofing: drainage holes, protected wiring routes, and geometry intended to simplify sealing are built into the design. The original large central deck hatch is removable, and both the sail and two deck sections may also be used as removable access hatches, providing excellent access to the interior for electronics, batteries, and maintenance. Whether built as a static display or developed into a capable RC craft, this model offers a smooth, builder-friendly experience from first print to final assembly. Rudders can be used in place of each other, right rudder has a slot at the rear for insterting a transparent rudder-booster plate if necessary. Full color 3MF file format is also available.
