My first version of this enclosure was a cube. It sounded awful. Boxy resonance, muddy mids, just not good. So I went back to the drawing board and designed this sealed 1-liter orb enclosure specifically tuned for the Dayton Audio PC83-4 3" full-range driver. The difference was night and day.

The spherical shape matters acoustically. It eliminates the parallel internal walls that cause standing waves in rectangular boxes, and the 1-liter sealed volume is sized to match the PC83-4's specs (Qts 0.54, Vas 0.07 ft³). The result sounds great. Full, clear, and way better than you'd expect from a 3" driver in a printed enclosure.What's in the download:Two versions are included. How it goes together:The driver press-fits into the orb body, then the ring cap presses over the front to lock it in place. The fit is snug. I recommend a thin bead of glue around the driver rim to seal any air gaps and get the best bass response out of the sealed enclosure.No screws, no hardware (unless you're using the mounting hole version to attach to a wall or bracket).Enclosure dimensions:
