DESCRIPTION

King David's harp according to House of David. This 3D reconstruction of David’s harp (biblical kinnor) is inspired by archaeological parallels and textual descriptions of the ancient Israelite lyre, traditionally associated with King David. The model follows the lyre‑type instrument known from Near Eastern reliefs and the so‑called “Lyre of Megiddo,” with a wooden soundbox, curved arms, and a yoke supporting multiple strings suitable for both melodic playing and accompaniment.

Designed for historians, educators, and digital artists, this reconstruction helps visualize the instrument David would have used to soothe Saul and to compose many of the Psalms, bringing together biblical tradition and current research on ancient Hebrew music. Whether used in virtual museums, biblical animations, or 3D printing projects, it offers a tangible way to explore the sound world of the First Temple period and the enduring symbolism of David’s harp in Jewish and Christian heritage.
