DESCRIPTION

The Benjamin Franklin Class Submarines were built in the 1960s and served until the 2000s. These were ballistic missile submarines developed from the James Madison Class. They were long range deep submergence patrol submarines used for the launch of nuclear weapon tipped ICBM missiles. The class had 16 launch tubes. It was built from 1963-1967 and then in the early 1970s converted to carry the Trident I ballistic missile. They were retired in the early 2000s and scrapped. The model was built near to scale in real units and built based on drawings, photos, and other documents. This model has a moderately detailed exterior and the following animateable features; rudders, elevators, clear water planes, telescoping periscopes and antenna masts, and opening missile tube hatches. These models render very well and look very realistic using good animation, lighting and rendering technique. It can be used in an animated or static position within a scene, animation or animated video, or possibly programming for a flight simulation application. This model was not designed for 3d printing, these are to be used as digital files only. If you purchase one for digital printing we do not guarantee that your print will be successful.Exporting of models is limited but good for several software applications. This model is fully textured with all materials UVW mapped and applied. Most materials are planar mapped and major materials include texturing. All textures and materials are included as shown. Objects are logically named for ease of scene management. No cleaning up necessary, just drop your models into the scene and start rendering. No special plug-ins are needed to open scene. In most cases the liveries are based on actual service liveries or paint schemes. Many of the units, airlines or countries who flew the plane are represented here. Dreamscape Studios is a US 3d modeling firm specializing in building high definition, accurate, and detailed 3D models of commercial, civilian, and military airplanes, ships, buildings and other subjects.Dreamscape 3d models are built in ultra-low to ultra-high polygon count, (most often) near to scale and include a good amount of detail based on the resolution target. If you have a question, error or problem with the model, let us know and we will do our best to provide or get a solution for you. Be advised our models are not designed for 3d printing unless they are advertised for that purpose.
