DESCRIPTION

This is a curved Lenke pedicle probe, which is used in spinal surgery to identify and prepare the pedicles of vertebral bodies in preparation for placement of pedicle screws during spinal surgery. Lenke pedicle probes come in straight and curved variations. This is a matter of surgeon preference. The general dimensions are typical for this type of surgical instrument. These are also known as gearshifts or stick shifts and typically have a spherical or sometimes pear-shaped handle, also dependiing on surgeon preference. Pedicle probes are typically used for open lumbar spine surgery. This was originally modeled in PTC/CREO CAD software.
