Historical description of the coin: This is a British One Penny coin from 1967 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.On the obverse (right side of the image) is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the inscription ELIZABETH·II·D·G·REG·F·D (Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith). On the reverse (left side of the image) is the seated figure of Britannia, holding a trident and shield, which has been a traditional design on British pennies. The inscription ONE PENNY appears along with the date 1967 at the bottom. The coin appears to be in good condition with a bronze/copper composition. This was one of the pre-decimal coins, as the United Kingdom switched to a decimal currency system in 1971. This penny would have been worth 1/240 of a pound sterling at the time of its circulation.
