Ivan Yosano (与よ謝さ野のイワン Yosano Iwan?) is an assassin affiliated with Nishino Village.

He is the master of the tsugai pair Magatsuhi (マガツヒ Magatsuhi), consisting of two swords named Daikyo and Shokyo.

Ivan is a tall, muscular man. His hair is tied in a bun and held with a hairpin. He wears a black shirt, brown trousers, and black boots. He often also wears a pair of half-palm gloves, and has occasionally worn a blue haori style jacket.

He wears his tsugai on his sword belt, with Shokyo at the top and Daikyo at the bottom of the belt. The hilts of the two tsugai are wrapped in orange cord wrap, and both blades sit inside white scabbards with gold details and a red knot.

As a hired gun (or sword, in this case)[1], Ivan's main concern on jobs is getting paid and staying alive. He's shown to be ruthless, cunning, and an intelligent fighter, capable of perfectly predicting his enemies reach and countering their attacks[2]. He is shown to be chatty, often engaging in conversation with his enemies during combat to goad them into making mistakes, such as taunting Yuru with information about his parents deaths. If he does not think that he can win a fight he is not afraid to retreat if it is possible, but if cornered he will continue fighting.

Despite associating with the Nishino village group, he is threatened with being turned into a meatball by Mineyama due to failing to kill Yuru.[4] Misasagi only offers him plain fried rice when Ivan visits the West Wind, and Ivan agrees with Shokyo's statement that he has no friends[6], suggesting that he may not consider any of the group to be close to him. He is also happy to leave a negative review on Misasagi's restaurant, which is already struggling with bad reviews.
