DESCRIPTION

Model of the temple of Dendur. This shrine was formerly on the Egyptian/Sudanese border, and dated from just after the fall of Egypt to the Roman Empire. It was dismantled at the time of the building of the Aswan Dam, which resulted in the site being flooded, and is now reconstructed in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
