This rigged Quetzalcoatlus 3D model has been created with a clean, production-ready topology and a professional Blender-native rig. The mesh consists of quads only and maintains a fixed polygon count of 56,820 polygons (57,936 vertices), ensuring predictable deformation and reliable subdivision behavior for users who wish to increase detail.
The rig is built entirely for Blender and includes a complete control system for both grounded and flight poses. It features an IK/FK switch, custom controllers, and two additional shape-key–driven bones (blinking and sniffing). No multires or subdivision modifiers are required to achieve the final look. However, the topology is optimized so that Subdivision Surface can be added seamlessly for users who require higher resolution.
Two fully UV-mapped material sets are included (skin and eyes), along with two particle systems providing realistic hair detail. The model is compatible with Blender Cycles and Eevee.
Only in unnatural poses can slight clipping occur on the wing membranes, which is common in complex winged rigs. The rig contains constraint-driven non-deformation bones, making Blender the recommended software for full functionality. Future updates may introduce an additional nictitating membrane for the eyes and further improvements toward broader cross-platform compatibility.
