Sengoku period Samurai warship- Atakebune

Sengoku period Samurai warship- Atakebune Low-poly 3D model

Description

Atakebune were large Japanese warships of the 16th and 17th century used during the Sengoku period of Japan, when samurai warlords vied for supremacy of the country. Those who occupied the coasts built vast coastal navies of several hundreds of ships. The largest (and most heavily armed) of these ships were called atakebune, which was used as floating fortresses, transport and patrol vessels. These large ships were equipped with oars and sails, thick planks to protect archers and arquebusiers, and were proven effective against pirates and less wealthy samurai who could not afford them.
