Hi, Welcome to my community!! Now I will Teach you how to paint in substance, maybe you already you know or maybe not, wherever I hope you enjoy this!!
First: You need to already have the OBJ file ready to import into Substance 3D Painter.
Then: Go to File and click New. In the template section, select โBlender (Starter_Asset)โ. In File Select, choose the file you want to edit. I do not recommend selecting the UV Maps from Substance 3D Painter. I work with Blender, and I recommend creating the UV Map in Blender instead (at least in my case). For Document Resolution, I recommend using 4K. Where it says Auto-Unwrap, I recommend keeping it disabled.
Then: Once you have the file and want to edit the material, you need to drag the material onto your object. After that, add a Black Mask and paint the selected part you want to edit.
Recommendations: You can go to the material settings and adjust the options in the Fill Properties. You can also go to the menu on the left side, where the brush tools are located, and select Polygon Fill. To use Polygon Fill, you first need to select the Black Mask.
Another option is to go to the top menu, where you can see the camera icon, and switch between the 2D and 3D views. This can help you use Polygon Fill more accurately. If you paint directly in the 3D view, you may accidentally paint parts you do not want, and then you will need to fix them afterward.
