How to install Blender for Windows for the first time.
Make sure you have the latest Blender Update by visiting their official site.
Click on "download" in order to complete this step. (I highly recommend the Stable release, unless you know what you're doing - to which you wouldn't be reading this tutorial!)
Right click on the file that you downloaded in the previous step and choose "extract". Be sure to extract the file into the drive and/or folder you wish blender to run from.
Navigate to the location where you have extracted the file during the previous step. Next, double-click (left mouse button) on the Blender executable within the folder. This will start Blender for Windows.
If you would like to create a shortcut for Blender on your desktop, simply click and drag the Blender executable over to your desktop and drop it. This will allow you to click on the new icon that has just appeared on your desktop, to run Blender, rather than having to navigate to the folder where it was extracted to.
