The company was founded in 2011 by Marius Kalytis, a 3D designer. CGTrader is backed by Intel Capital and Practica Capital.
She has been working with startups since 2007 and has co-founded several companies, including one in digital and social marketing space. Her background comes from business and finance, but her passion is entrepreneurship: especially working with new companies and innovative products.
Marius has been working in the field of 3D design, graphics and animation since 1994. Previously he was the founder and CEO of a 3D visualization and animation company Visual Mind. Marius founded CGTrader to challenge the current industry model and provide more author-friendly royalty terms for 3D artists and designers. He has been working with CGTrader since 2010 and aims to make it the best 3D model marketplace worldwide.

Since 2005, he served as CEO and shareholder of AGA-CAD Ltd. He was one of the very first people to believe in a global 3D model marketplace and democratizing the 3D model market.
A simple electronic watch on Vilius’ wrist pretty much sums up everything about the guy: he likes simple solutions, accuracy and style. Vilius became a very important member of the team immediately after he joined it: his constant stream of fresh platform development ideas made him indispensable! He aims learn more and more every day – it keeps the whole team on their toes, and they’re not slacking behind!
Edvardas Šmulaitis is CGTrader‘s Marketing Technologist & Product Development Manager, responsible for everything concerning customer online experience and product development. He’s a natural-born entrepreneur, having launched the biggest music social network in Lithuania while still in his senior year of high school and developed his keen interest in international business by working for a US fashion e-commerce retailer. Since Edvardas is a passionate mélomane, it’s no surprise he’s bloody good at listening to what others have to say, both in business and life, so no action is ever taken until all the cards are on the table. What scares the socks off him is the dark art of cooking, but his ambitions to master it remain unbridled.
Vytautas joined CGTrader in April 2016 as a Product Owner. With over 5 years of experience in the tech space he has worked with both startup and large companies helping them grow and achieve their goals. Being very active in the community, he has co-founded and organized some of the biggest startup events in the region – Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics and LOGIN Startup Fair. Following his motto “do what you love, love what you do” he goes wakeboarding every weekend of the summer and will be going to Burning Man in 2016 for a second time in a row.
Eduardas is an extremely positive person juggling different projects. He is responsible for the challenges happening on CGTrader, blog, forum management and other tasks related to marketing and community management. Being versatile, he adores learning new things, analyzing everything and everyone, being sarcastic and… Football. He hates Mondays, but wears a smile on his face. Even on Mondays.
Ginvilė is a marketing project manager and she joined the team back in April 2016. She earns her keep by building media relations, looking for small scale partnership opportunities as well as developing all sorts of exciting marketing analytics. Ginvilė is extremely socially active, so much so that it’s hard to pin down what she’s doing! But she is one of the organizers of TEDxVilnius, so that should tell you what kind of pro you’re dealing with!
If you at least once contacted us via online support, most likely you know who Mantas is. He is irreplaceable person taking care about our customers and community members. You can recognize him by the impressive beard, randomness and… Corny jokes. Being kind and mellow, Mantas is supportive not only for the community, but for the whole team.
Justas Janciauskas is CGTrader’s Sales Support Executive, responsible for guiding designers to successful merchandising and maintaining the customers happy. He started out as an intern and was soon recognized as an integral part of the team as well as a passionate customer service ambassador. Although an exceptionally picky eater, Justas is a never-in-a-bad-mood kind of guy and, probably, the most patient man in the office.
Motiejus is another versatile team player – his position description doesn’t really cover the work that he does. He’s our geek - the one playing with our 3D printer as well as writing in a blog, creating approach strategies and quickly getting reputation as the one who can learn anything. He says that he may not be the most empathetic person, he’s a really interesting and nice guy nonetheless. All in all, Motiejus is our jack of all trades.
Lukas been with CGTrader at least since February 2016. While he started out as an intern, he has since “graduated” into the position of a business development manager. Lukas spends his days communicating with designers and modelers, providing them with useful information and guiding them through the processes of becoming of a fully-fledged user of the platform. Previously, Lukas had worked as a waiter, a bartender and administrator, as well as having done the whole “work and travel USA” thing. He loves basketball and likes playing football in the rain.
Justė is our business development associate who joined the team in July 2016. She studied at Vilnius University, did 6 months of Erasmus exchange, and was an intern at the Lithuanian free market institute before coming to CGTrader. As a classy ol’ gal, Justė enjoys reading fantasy books, listening to rock music and watching old movies. But she’s not at all sedentary, oh no: she spends a lot of time cycling and camping, too. At work, she has a hard time controlling the volume of her loud laughter! And even if she's that loud, people appreciate her creativity and concentration.
Having started his career at CGTrader as an intern, Justas became an irreplaceable member of the business development team. He is valued for analytical and critical mind and is responsible for searching for ways to grow CGTrader’s community through attracting new talents. He always has a number of solutions for different problems (as Justas says, he is known for seeing problems everywhere) and looks for ways to improve the processes he is working on.
Laura started as an intern and got quickly adjusted to her role. Her responsibilities include establishing long-term customer relationships as well as partnerships with industry-related companies. Laura can't blow a balloon, but she could take you for a ride with her 1971 VW beetle.
Žilvinas is a passionate web developer. He loves experimenting with new web technologies and believes that there’s nothing he can’t learn. Being remarkably ambitious, Žilvinas is passionate about extreme and competitive activities, electronic music and the startup ecosystem. He joined the team in late June after refusing a job interview with Google.
Laura is our junior front-end web developer, who actually started out as an intern! Her studies had started with finance and math, but her heart wasn't in it, so she took up Java programming. She had never imagined that she would be a programmer! Fittingly for our game-friendly website, she likes boardgames and videogames. Laura is responsible, smart and loves animals. Probably not water animals, because she's not much of a swimmer. Laura spends her free time with her boyfriend, working on their startup.
