DESCRIPTION

Summary

I was impatient today and tried to pull a small PLA part off of the heated build platform of a Replicator immediately after it was done printing. The part was still VERY soft, and warped beyond usability.

That got me to thinking about an awesome application for a material that hardens upon cooling... fortune cookies!

Enjoy.

I design things in my free time, just for fun. If you like my stuff, send me some DOGE. It'll totally make my day! Thank you.

Instructions

1: Skein the STL file at 0.27 layer height, which will make it exactly 3 layers thick. If you want to do a different layer height, adjust the thickness of the 10cm cylinder accordingly.

2: Cut a strip of paper about 2.5in long and 0.5in high, and write/type your fortune onto it. My fortune for the test cookie read You are awesome!

(If someone wants to try sealing a throwie in there instead, SEND PICS!!!)

3: Print on a Replicator with standard settings.

4: IMMEDIATELY remove the print, place the fortune onto one side of the circle, and fold in half. Find a vertical thin wall (I used the edge of an acrylic box) and holding the folded circle by the two corners, and with the flat side down, press the cookie down onto the wall. The middle will flare out, producing the distinctive fortune cookie shape. Hold the cookie until it cools down, and you're done!

If you were having trouble understanding step 4, here's a video. Skip to 1:30.

5: The fortune will be visible through your clear cookie... give it to someone awesome!
