Version 2 tested and improved. Designed for real-world use and optimized for both ergonomics and strength. Suggestions for further improvement are welcome.
The Superior Spray Can Pro Holder V2 is a redesigned, ergonomic spray can accessory made for creators, graffiti artists, hobbyists, and DIYers. Its two-part design is simple to print and assemble. No supports are required for the recommended settings.
Key Features3D Printing & Setup
- No supports needed – easy and clean printing.
- Lightweight (up to ~30g) thanks to a shell-style internal structure.
- Fast print time – around 1,5 hour on standard FDM printers.
- Provided as an STL file, ready for slicing.
- Modern, clean look – doesn’t resemble blocky Minecraft style.
Ergonomics & Comfort
- Ergonomic grip – comfortable to hold for long sessions.
- Smooth and responsive trigger – no jamming or sticking.
- Increased space between grip and trigger:
- Prevents accidental activation.
- Allows a stable two-point hand position (part on grip, part on trigger).
- Quick release – whole unit can be detached by pulling the trigger backward.
Precision & Utility
- Trigger with built-in crosshair – aligned with the can’s nozzle for accurate spraying.
- Stable fit on the can – no wiggling or shifting during use.
- Optional screw mount – for those who want extra locking force.
Structure & Durability
- Rigid and reinforced – strong enough to avoid bending or flexing.
- Optimized screw mounting position – closer to the can for better force distribution.
- Efficient material usage – strong yet economical on filament.
- SPRAY_GUN_SUPERIOR_V2.stl – Main body and clamp
- SPRAY_TRIGGER_SUPERIOR_V2.stl – Trigger
- Requires one M4 screw + nut (main trigger attachment)
- Optional: M3 screw + nut with washer for trigger
- Can clamp does not require a screw – it holds tightly
- If desired, a screw can be added to the can clamp using M3 or M4
- 0.6 mm nozzle, 30% infill, 2 walls
- Time: ~1 h 39 min
- Material: ~58.6 g PLA
- Balanced quality and strength (Gyroid infill)
or
- 0.4 mm nozzle, 30% infill, 2 walls @ 0.08 mm layer height
- Time: ~8 h 22 min
- Material: ~57 g PLA
- High-detail visual showcase version
-
0.4 mm nozzle, 15% infill, 1 wall
- Time: ~2 h 38 min
- Material: ~38.25 g PLA
- Requires precise calibration and high end printer - lightest tested version
-
0.6 mm nozzle, 15% infill, 1 wall
- Time: ~1 h 31 min
- Material: ~45.98 g PLA
- Works well with high-end printer and good filament
-
0.6 mm nozzle @ 0.30 mm layer height (Bambu Lab “Strength” preset)
- Time: ~1 h 47 min
- Material: ~62.6 g PLA
- Large layer heights (0.20 mm and above) may reduce quality in areas with steep overhangs
- Safe values: 0.12–0.16 mm for support-free, clean prints
- This is not a print-in-place design. The trigger must be manually attached to the main part
- Tested: PLA
- Expected to work better with PET-G and ABS due to higher strength
- Potential for even lower material usage with stronger filaments
- Nozzle: 225 °C (235 °C for first layer)
- Bed: 45 °C (60 °C for first layer)
- Spray painting models and parts
- Graffiti and stencil artwork
- Furniture and surface restoration
- DIY and workshop use
