Wall Drawing Robot (XY Plotter) – ESP32 CNC-Based System
This is not just another 3D model.
This project presents a full-scale wall drawing robot concept — a vertical XY plotter using a suspended V-frame gondola system, capable of turning almost any wall into a drawing surface.
Powered by an ESP32-based CNC controller, the system operates as a simplified two-axis CNC machine, converting vector graphics into real-world drawings with high precision.
How It WorksDual-motor XY system (top-mounted)V-shaped suspended gondola structureGravity-stabilized drawing headG-code driven motion (CNC principle)ESP32 controller for motion control and communication
The system translates XY coordinates into cable or belt movement and executes drawing paths in real time, similar to large-format wall plotters.
What You Get3D printable mechanical partsAssembly conceptDemonstration of drawing capabilityImportant
This release includes mechanical design only.
To make the system fully functional, additional components and development are required:
Motion control firmwareCalibration parametersKinematics conversion (XY to cable length mapping)Electronics setup and tuning
If you have experience with CNC or plotter systems, you will recognize that this is typically the most challenging part of the build.
