DESCRIPTION

MeshRift's 'Chiselled Wood' pack is a realistic material pack designed for use in Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot and more, offering high-quality wooden surfaces. Ideal for indie developers, this pack delivers high-fidelity textures that are free to use across a range of realistic settings.

What's Included?

This sample pack includes 10 materials using 4 textures per material (40 textures in total). All materials are in 4K resolution and include the following textures:

  • Base Colour
  • Normal (DirectX)
  • Height / Displacement
  • ORM (Packed Map containing Ambient Occlusion, Roughness and Metallic)
  • README.txt
  • Contents.pdf
  • Rounded Cylinder FBX for material testing

Art Direction

Materials which follow accurate PBR values and are game-ready with included optimisation. Useful for high-end environment decoration, cinematics, prop texturing or vertex painting. Different chiselling patterns are used throughout the pack for wider variation. Each material includes five base colour maps to display various types of wood (Dark Oak, Lighter Oak, Mahogany, Birch and Charcoal / Burnt) as well as featuring a 'Damaged' counterpart that includes cracks and dirtier surfaces (for Base Colour and Roughness).

Performance & Optimisation

Each material saves file space in your project browser by combining the Ambient Occlusion, Roughness and Metallic map into a packed map (ORM). Packed textures like this help with video game optimisation by using the each R,G,B channel and assigning them single-channel grayscale textures. Different base colour maps are provided to offer more variety across chiselled surfaces without increasing texture amount.
