DESCRIPTION

The goal in this concept was to simplify the component parts. Injection-molding or die-cast are two viable manufacturing processes.

Base is the primary structure to which other components mount. The geometry as a natural dam or splash guard preventing water from traveling upward into the vent area. The lower half of the helical lift system is molded into the base. The outer cover is secured with fasteners from the underside.

Note: per input of the Eng. community I've added a section view of an alternative vent seal to be a cap that completely covers the opening.
