Why was my negative review removed?

Discussion started by jasonalanterry

Is this normal? I left a negative (although harsh) review on a 3d model I purchased.

The file is poorly done, poorly supported, and IMO, not worth it's price. That's my review.

My
review below was written after a few hours of trying to get this very
complex, and poorly scaled model to print on a Photon S. As such, I was
overly harsh, and that is something I will take ownership of.

The review was not false, but again may have been harsh.

If I violated a rule or something in my review, it would have been nicer to been simply asked to change that but keep my negative review.

Did not know that this was a site full of censorship, if negative reviews can just be removed how can I be assured the OVERWHELMING amount of positive 5 star no comment reviews are likely even real.

I could make a lot of counterpoints to the sellers arguments in his response, but regardless. Censoring negative reviews for the sake of "Saving Reputation" is a terrible way to do business. Very shady.

I don't think that the review was censored, but more like deemed illegitimate by the sellers response. Before buying a model make sure that the model fits your requirements by viewing the description, model formats and the preview images. His point about a single negative review being more harmful than the sale would profit him is a very valid point to why negative reviews are taken seriously by the moderators.

However, you can probably get your purchase refunded. I've had some of my stuff refunded before, just press the help button on the right side of screen or find one of the emails for support and ask for a refund on that model, because it wasn't what you thought you were getting/ it doesn't suit your needs. The seller probably didn't know about refunds, because sellers don't have access to the tools to refund.

Hope I was helpful, Locki.

Very helpful, honestly it's not about the refund, or that the purchase was not what was expected. I can eat that I bought the model, and it' wasn't working for me. what I dislike, is I can not go into the reviews, and leave a review stating what my expectations and outcomes where, to assist OTHER buys who may make the same mistake. This simply allows someone else to come along, and make the mistake I did.

I've looked at all the models that he has and they look pretty good for 3D printing. Usually it is preferred that you have one whole solid mesh for printing, which was one of your negative points. In the picture it is clear that it is one solid mesh. As for the sizes he has documented the sizing in the description for each model. In the review you said that t was impossible to print and to not buy the model. I think I found what model you were referencing and there seems to be 3 positive reviews for it.

It's not censoreship, if support themselves doesn't see a problem with the model they will remove negative rating and will not refund in most cases, the reason why they removed it in this particular case is because you mentioned things that aren't in the description of the model. As OsakaZ said to you, "I didn't said that it was cut or pre supported in the description". Honestly i'm personally tired of peoples who come to this site without even a smallest clue about what they are doing. If the description of the model clearly states that "this" or "that" isn't modeled, that mean that it isn't, don't buy model and than ask for a refund because "this" or "that" isn't available. I'm also tired of peoples who thinks that they can get their hands on a model for free just because they can ask for a refund and usually, to support their claim they wrote the worst posible review without reason.

Well, the points regarding the model that are valid, and would warrant deterring other users from making mistakes are. The model is not pre-supported, and likely untested, if the modeler did not have time to put supports onto the model, so (Buy at your own risk) The model's scale was not listed, and due to what the model was, I was mislead to belive it was indeed at 40mm scale. regardless, my opinion is this model is not a good Lictor model, and not what most people would think it is, that's a valid 'review' If only legitiment complaints are to be posted, such as. "Model is not complete." or "Files are Missing" we leave no forum to discuss what is good, great, bad, or in the middle. It's either good enough to sell, or falsely marketed. How is that no censorship?? I could leave a negative review saying "Model didn't come with a baseless file, wish model was segmented instead." That's a valid complaint that shouldn't be removed. Nothing in the statement is false, why delete it.

If you were unsure, why didn't you contacted the author and asked? Im sure that all of this could be avoided in that case. Im glad when someone ask and after that doesnt buy, because i don't have to waist my time on this kinda things. As far as: "Nothing in the statement is false" Obviusly something is, support doesnt remove negative ratings just like that. Have a good day/night.
