Realflow categories needed ?

Discussion started by Forester

Thank you for inviting me to join the CGTrader community and to sell my Realflow scene sets here. I am enjoying the experience, and I admire the construction and operation of this web site and model brokerage.

I think there may be potential for problems with people who purchase my Realflow scenes. Specifically, there is a great potential for a person to purchase one of these, thinking they are buying a static 3D model, and ending up being disappointed.

In the product descriptions I have tried to write the description in such a way that there is a full explanation of what the person is purchasing. But there are two things that happen to the general product description that will give a purchaser the impression that they are buying a 3D model.

One, is something that seems to happen in the "Software" and "Version" fields for submitted products. There is no category for "Realflow Scene" in the "Software" field, so I have tried to select the "Other" option, and then type in "Realflow Scene Set" in the "Version" field. But when I do this, and "save" the product description, the "*.Obj" option appears in place of the "Other" option that I selected, and it is accompanied by the "Alias Wavefront *.mtl" as a second "Software" field. I've tried to correct/edit this for my "Concave Rainblade Realflow Scene" product that a customer purchased yesterday, but no matter how many times I select "Other", the field type always reverts to "*.Obj". So, customers will always get the wrong information about the product.

A simple correction to this issue could be executed if you are able to add "Realflow" or "Realflow Scene Set" to the options available for the "Software" type.

I understand that you can not just add every option vendors might like, but I am hesitant to add another 30 Realflow products here because I am afraid there will be too many customer complaints - people thinking they are buying a 3D model when they are buying a Realflow scene.

Second, even though I am careful to type in only "x...... Realflow Scene" for the product title, the words "3d Model" are always added to the product title when the product description is published. But it is not a static 3D model that is being vended. This issue seems to me to be less likely to cause confusion that the first issue above, but it is not helpful.

I can continue to write the product description texts as clearly as I am able, but anything I am able to write seems to be defeated by whatever is happening to overprint my selection of "Other" in the Software and Version fields. Is it possible to make a small addition here? If so, I will happily upload another 30 Realflow Scene sets from http://www.expandingwave.com to the CGTrader store.

Respectfully,

Forester
