Platonic Solids

Platonic Solids 3D print model

Description

The Platonic solids, also called the regular solids, are convex polyhedra with equivalent faces composed of congruent convex regular polygons. There are exactly five such solids:

  • tetrahedron (4 triangular faces)
  • cube (6 square faces)
  • octahedron (8 triangular faces)
  • dodecahedron (12 pentagonal faces)
  • icosahedron (20 triangular faces)

Models were drawn in style of Leonardo da Vinci who illustrated the geometry book written by Luca Pacioli, De divina proportione (1509). All the solids have equal circumradius, i.e. all the vertices of the polyhedras could align on the same sphere.
However 3d prints on the figures were not high quality, you could print better copies.
