1981 VW Rabbit dashboard - Miniature Model building 3D print model

This is my current best attempt to recreate the dashboard of the illustrious 1981 Diesel VW Rabbit. I was in the process of trying to build a scale replica of my wife's first car (which was my first car as well) when I started to realize that there are no accurate model kits of the US model 1981 rabbit. A great car with its 50-mpg efficiency. Although it had some interesting features like random water leaks on the left side of the car into the cabin and dashboard that eventually disabled the headlights of my rabbit, the drooping headliner and the non-responsive brake lights. Yes, it had a few interesting design features but was still a great car overall. I like to think the design defects added character.

So for the decerning model builder that has a hankering to build an accurate 1981 Diesel VW Rabbit with a more accurate dashboard.

I designed this for the 1/20 scale 9165 Entex Volkswagen VW Rabbit version, But I think you should be able to scale it down for the a more common 1/24 scale model.

Its not perfect but I think with some decent modeling skills it should prove to be serviceable.
