DESCRIPTION

This Pirate Snub-fighter (R-41 Starchaser) Sci-fi Vehicle Set is not set up for CGI use and therefore includes no texture files and is not UV unwrapped. This model is intended for use with a 3D Printer to create a physical model of the asset.

As such, this asset just contains 18 STL files (128MB) that will allow you to print the parts necessary to build this starfighter model kit.

Also included are a number of promotional shots, both renders of the CG asset and photographs of the printed model prototype, intended to assist you in your building of the asset and illustrating clearly where all the parts need to go.

This spacecraft model design was inspired by the Pirate Starfighters that appeared in a certain sci-fi TV show. I have created the most accurate representation of this vehicle possible given the limited reference available at this time, that being primarily screengrabs from the show, and the concept art featured in the show's end credits. As such, this model may not be entirely accurate to the screen used asset, and creative license has been used where reference for an area just isn't available. However it is still most likely the most accurate model of this vehicle currently around, and painstaking efforts have been made to make this model as accurate as possible. But at the end of the day, this is my interpretation of this ship.

The native scale of this model is intended to be 1:18 scale, which means this thing is pretty big, The final model at native scale is well over 30 cm long, and will fit in with vehicles intended for use with 3.75 inch action figures. The classic vintage action figure scale. So this model should not look out of place beside a The Vintage Collection vehicle collectible.

I hope you enjoy, and have lots of fun with it.

Recently purchased this model of the Pirate Snub Fighter from Talon Industries, what can i say about this model, well its absolutely fantastic, perfect in every way,I had to reduce the size as I couldnt fit it on my printer bed,but saying that it still came out at a whopping 42cm in length,I can highly recommend this model, you will not be disappointed, easy to print,Now that i know how to split large pieces in half(which i didnt know how to do),I'm going to reprint it full size in the near future,Once again this is a highly recommened model and i can recommend Talon Industries highly, roll on future figures from them,

Thanks for your kind comments guys. Calebnk, if it had an opening cockpit it would be large enough to fit a 3.75 inch 1:18 scale figure, yes, but at this stage it doesn't have that. This is just a model of the exterior of the ship at this time. Wanted to keep things simple, as this is my first stab at doing a CG design specifically for 3D Printing. But thought I'd go large or go home. So went for this scale so it could sit comfortably next to official shop bought Star Wars toy/collectible vehicles. My intent is to revisit this design when better reference becomes available for it (such as a Mando Series 3 Art of book for example, or official orthos or blueprints) , and then I'll be able to add greater surface detail, and also add extra features such as a removable canopy and a detailed cockpit interior, and perhaps landing gear too. But that will be a while off. Recently the Art of books for that show have come out a year or more after the show airs. This model (hopefully) has the virtue of being the first decent model of this ship available out there. As far as I know I'm the only one that has tackled it so far (most likely due to a lack of decent reference), so being first on the market is this model's selling point. Later down the road, greater detail, accuracy and more features will be the selling point for the second version. But this should tide you over until then if you want to immediately get your hands on one of these.
