DESCRIPTION

This is a 3D-Printable model kit of the Red 5 Hero X-Wing model in 1/24 studio scale.

Red 3 can be found here: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/miniatures/sci-fi/model-x-mk-ii-1-24-studio-scale-red3

Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the use of the latest technologies like photogrammetry and with the originally used kit parts in hand, every curve, every panel line and every detail has been faithfully recreated to be as accurate as possible to the Red 5 Hero model, that was used for filming in the first STAR WARS movie.

With this STL set you can build your own studio-model-accurate replica of Luke Skywalkers Red 5 X-Wing.But you can of course paint it in any desired color scheme and call sign you want. The included templets for the call sign markings will help you with that.

The last eight pictures show the main differences between Red 3 and Red 5.

May the force be with you!

This is an excellent set of files from Dominic. The detail overall is superb and the cockpit detail is particularly amazing! Dominic is very responsive and helpful in answering questions. Only thing to make the experience even better would be an instruction manual.

This is an excellent replica of Red 5, very much worthy of the price. I suggest the following improvements though: the fuselage is so long it should be split in three or four pieces, not just two, imho. I have a Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra and I'm struggling to fit the fuselage in it, forced to accept angles that I don't really like. Same with the wings, they come in one piece. I fear I'll have to ditch 7 hours long prints because one part warped too much. And that can be easily avoided by splitting the wings and fuselage into 2 hours long prints. Less printing, less weight, less tension, better angles = more success rate. I'll do it manually but of course it would help if that was an option. Also, the wings are asking for a hole in them to insert a 1mm or 2mm steel rod (or two rods) in them to keep them straight for life regardless of heatwaves and cold winters. Where I live there's a 40ºC difference between winter and summer and I worry the wings will warp in time. The steel rod should go from the tip of the wing to the part of the wing that goes onto the inner armature on the opposite end. That would be much appreciated.

This X-Wing is the most detailed that I've ever seen! The scale is excellent, and the features, like magnets to hold the wings open or closed, are pretty cool. His response to questions is excellent.
