This devices let’s call in the skyhook, because Luke Skywalker is hanging on the hook to swing to the other side, can be seen in several location in different movies. First in the hanger control room on the death star. Most famous is at the extension bridge with Leia and Luke. It can also be seen when Obi-Wan turns of the tractor beam. (same location as the extension bridge.). It can also be seen in the blockade runner when Leia gets stunned by the Stormtroopers. And it can be seen in Return of the Jedi, in the top of the Emperors throne room above the elevators.
