DESCRIPTION
  • Recommended Printer Type: Resin (SLA/MSLA) is highly recommended for capturing the razor-sharp edges of the katana and the fine lacing of the samurai armor, though FDM (with an AMS/MMU system) is fantastic for utilizing the multi-color 3MF file.
  • For FDM Printing:
    • Layer Height: 0.12mm or lower for the best surface detail on the curved armor and cloth textures.
    • Infill: 10% to 15% (Gyroid) to keep the bulky armor lightweight.
    • Walls: 3 to 4 perimeters.
    • Supports: Heavily required (especially for the overhanging shoulder pads, the extended helmet rim, and the katana hilt). Organic/Tree supports are strongly recommended.
    • Multi-Color: Load the included 3MF file to easily assign your crisp white, deep black, and dark silver filaments to their designated sections.
  • For Resin Printing:
    • Layer Height: 0.03mm to 0.05mm.
    • Hollowing: Highly recommended for the thick torso and legs to save resin. Hollow to 2mm thickness and place drain holes discretely under the boots.
    • Supports: Medium supports for the heavy main body; highly precise light supports for the katana and the delicate armor lacing details.
  • Recommended Materials: PETG or PLA for FDM; ABS-like or Tough Resin for SLA is highly recommended to prevent the katana from snapping during post-processing.
  • Post-Processing: Exercise extreme patience when removing supports from the weapons and the intricate samurai helmet brim. If hollowed in resin, ensure the interior cavities are thoroughly washed and cured before displaying.
  • Painting Ideas (If using the STL): To achieve that iconic weathered trooper look, prime the model in a matte black or dark grey. Basecoat the hard armor plates in an off-white or light bone color. Apply a heavy dark brown or black wash (like Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade) over the entire armor to settle into the traditional lacing and panel lines, wiping away the excess on the raised surfaces to simulate battle damage and grime. Paint the undersuit, gloves, and boots in a matte black, and finish the katana hilt and scabbard details with a bright, contrasting metallic silver.
