Documentation (history)

  • Parabellum-Pistole, also known as the Luger pistol, is a semi-automatic handgun that was developed by German firearms designer Georg Luger in 1898. The pistol was used by the German military during World War I and World War II and is still highly sought after by collectors today.

The Parabellum-Pistole has a distinctive design with a toggle-lock mechanism that is unique among semi-automatic pistols. The pistol also features a long barrel, a grip safety, and a magazine that is loaded from the bottom.

The Parabellum-Pistole was widely used by the German military during World War I and World War II, and it was also used by other countries including Switzerland, Portugal, and the Netherlands. Despite its popularity, the Parabellum-Pistole was somewhat difficult and expensive to manufacture, which ultimately led to its replacement by other designs such as the Walther P38.

Today, the Parabellum-Pistole is highly prized by collectors and enthusiasts, and it remains an iconic symbol of German military history.
