Garou, known as the Hero Hunter and later the Human Monster, is a central character and major adversary in the One-Punch Man series. He is a martial arts prodigy whose desire to challenge the hero-centric world leads him on a path of self-proclaimed Absolute Evil, eventually resulting in his transformation into the immensely powerful Awakened Garou: Cosmic Fear Mode. The Hero HunterGarou was once the top disciple of the S-Class hero Bang (Silverfang) but was expelled after going on a rampage and injuring his fellow students. Driven by a childhood spent rooting for the losing villains in TV shows and a belief that the hero system was a form of biased bullying, he developed a pathological hatred for heroes. He embarked on a hero hunt, systematically defeating professional heroes to become the world's strongest monster and a symbol of absolute fear. Throughout this process, he displayed exceptional martial arts skill (specifically the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist), immense strength, speed, durability, and a key ability to adapt and grow stronger through battle, even in a weakened state.
