The transition from geometric solid to a wireframe model is a very simple and easy process through digital parametric means. Voronoi, surface subdivisions, patterning and surface thickening are common place scripts and make for quick designs. This creates a very stylised and common place aesthetic (often synonymous with parametric as a term), the challenge is how to create something designed which utilises the iterative design potential of computers and parametric approaches.
For this pendant a typology was created and then iterated against both the number of edges and surface subdivisions - producing 24 diamond pendants in this scenario. From there 2 were handpicked for their design and aesthetic appeal, taking into consideration the limitations of 3D printing.
Happy to scale the product as required. Individual sizes are approx. 25mm x 25mm x 50mm. Product is designed in Rhino 3D and exported into STL, OBJ, 3DS file formats.
