The Crystal Star is the 2nd magical item that Usagi Tsukino uses to transform into Sailor Moon and holds her Silver Crystal. It is primarily used in the Moon Crystal Power, Make Up transformation during the Black Moon arc of the manga, 90s anime, crystal, and Sera Myu.In Act 14, Queen Serenity gifts the Crystal Star to Usagi in the Chamber of Prayer after Usagi arrives at the Moon Castle. Her previous Transformation Brooch shattered after the defeat of Queen Metalia. Usagi only had to place the Silver Crystal inside the brooch to use it. It is destroyed in the final battle against Death Phantom and is replaced by the Cosmic Heart Compact gifted to Usagi from Neo-Queen Serenity.It was created when Usagi's broken Transformation Brooch merged with the Silver Crystal in episode 51. Sailor Moon also uses the Crystal Star to heal the Ayakashi Sisters with Moon Crystal Power. It was also used to attempt to awaken Neo-Queen Serenity from her slumber, but is unsuccessful.In Sailor Moon S, Mikuuji pinned Usagi down and bit the Crystal Star, ruining the Silver Crystal's powers and breaking the brooch. The following episode, Usagi was so distraught over being unable to help fight evil that her and Mamoru's love upgraded it, and it became the Cosmic Heart Compact from then on.The gems on the compact represent the four Inner Sailor Senshi. The moon in the middle represents Sailor Moon. From the top clockwise, Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter.When the compact was first sold by Bandai in North America, It was called the Miracle Romance Compact. The compact also came with Shining Moon Powder.In the failed North American Live Action pilot, Sailor Moon's brooch is an imported Bandai Crystal Star toy modified to cover the interior mirror and some screw holes.The music used in this evolved transformation was also used for Moon Prism Power! in the DiC English dub and all of Sailor Moon's transformations in local syndication repeats of the CWIi English dub.
