Small tealight holder with stars and decorative lacing
What would Christmas be without candles, lights and stars? Small but beautiful. This small filigree tealight holder is the perfect decoration for Christmas. It looks great both during the day and at night and makes an ideal gift!
A great DIY project with beautiful results. Easy to print a few and embellish.
The 3D files are optimized for FDM printing at home and can be printed without support.
What you need:
- 3D printer + filament
- Tealight in a glass (with 4.7 cm diameter and 2.5 cm height) or LED-tealight
- 5 mm wide satin ribbon or 3 mm cord
- Hair dryer + any solid roll with a diameter of approx. 5 cm (like a glass bottle, wooden roller, metal tube or PVC pipe)
Here are some brief instructions:
- Print the three parts (flat on the plate, without support).
- Clean the parts.
- Heat the star part piece by piece in front of a hair dryer and, when it becomes soft, shape it around a solid metal or PVC pipe or similar that has approximately the same diameter as the base of the candle holder and allow the part to cool in its rounded shape.
- Put the three printed parts together.
- Attach decorative lacing to the holes at the back.
- Insert the tealight glass and your beautiful Christmas decoration is complete.
The choice of the printing material and the color of the lacing offer many different variations, allowing you to create your very own color combination.
The photos show candle holders printed with brown and black wood PLA and different colored satin laces.
*IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, only use tea lights in glasses, NOT other candles or normal small tea lights without glass! Normal small tea lights or other candles can potentially causing a fire. Never leave the candle burning unattended. Alternatively, use LED candles. *
