The Christchurch Cathedral in New Zealand is an iconic symbol of the city. The 2011 and subsequent earthquakes however proved too great for the Gothic Revival styled stone Cathedral. The table ornament presented here is modeled off the main columns and arched in the central nave of the Cathedral. Based off an octagonal base the columns and arch are represented as a negative.

This ornament is suited for a table or bookcase end. This detailed model would be best in a well-lit room to allow the light to take advantage of the detail and depth to create shadows on the model. Sandstone is a great material for this ornament as it best mimics the texture of stone and is more affordable when compared to more weighty metals.
